    Removing the trigger

Speaking of triggers, I'm considering removing the trigger on my Adams custom E1 and replacing it with the basic tuning slide. 2 questions: 1) should I do it? I'm finding I'm not using the trigger often and would get more effective use from the traditional tuning slide.
    2) it seems simple enough to remove the screw for removal. Is it? Any complications I need to be aware of?
Would need to remove it anyway for my semi annual cleaning, right?

I would be real careful when removing the long screw that has the actual trigger arm and spring attached. There is some pretty good tension on the spring and you can hurt yourself or your horn. There is usually no need to remove the trigger/spring/screw assembly during (semi-) annual maintenance. At least not that I can think of. Also, you could undo the slide and barrel assembly and just leave the trigger arm in place without removing it (take the screw off the end of the trigger arm that was holding the screw that was attaching to one end of the barrel). I am not sure how Adams makes the tuning slide when using a trigger. I assume the slide legs are a tiny bit smaller in diameter to make them move easily. If that is the case, then a slide made for the euphonium without trigger should fit where the old one was. But it might need some adjustment in any case.
