Matt Tropman Continuum
For anyone who's curious about how a pro-level player can sustain pyrotechnics through sustained passages and still find a breath in there somehow, I recommend the first track of Matt Tropman's CD Continuum. I believe its title translates to Dance of the Shepherd Girl (Vallflickanddans). The whole album is a marvel that opening with that number sets the stage for more pyrotechnics to come. I do wonder what euphonium model(s) he was playing. I notice that not many artists put that info in the CD jacket information. I believe he was still in graduate school when he made the recording.
