Thread: Schlipf Tour mute

  1. Schlipf Tour mute

Does anyone have any experience with these mutes?

I'm looking for a better practice mute and a "two in one"-mute sounds like a nice deal. The mute I currently have is the Best brass which can be stored in the bell while in the case.

  2. I use the Schlipf Tour Mute now for more than 10 years and I am still happy with it. The Euphonium version I have not tested, but the one for my Eb tuba works great in both modes. The amount of dampening is adjustable so you can decide what you need. Tuning and intonation stay in shape and it can travel in the bell in the case. My second one is a prototype for the euph version and fits well into my French C. They both safed my life during Covid, when my wife worked at home!

I tried a few of them before I landed with the Best Brass practice mute. It has lived up to it's name....great intonation and easy to store in the bell.
