    Ensemble playing for euphonium

    Hello everyone,

Next to the playing in tuba-euphonium ensembles or in a brass quintet (often replacing the trombone part) I'm wondering, which combination of brass players do you think will work great in an ensemble with euphonium? In my opinion there is a lot of brass ensemble music written for small till larger ensembles, however we aren't often participating. What would your ideal ensemble look like, disregarding the existing repertoire and possibilities? I'm curious about your thoughts!

There is a wide variety of brass quartet music from the British tradition, written for 2 cornets, tenor horn, and euphonium. It makes for an ensemble that parallels a string quartet. Most of it is published with Eb horn part, though. You can find original compositions and transcriptions.
