Thread: Boosey and Hawkes Sovereign 4 Valve Comp Silver

  1. Boosey and Hawkes Sovereign 4 Valve Comp Silver

Boosey and Hawkes 4 Valve Silver Euphonium. Very good condition. Silver plate in excellent condition. Bought from the estate of a collector. Looks as if it has been played very little. Also looks exactly like a Besson with a different name. I know very little about B&H.

In the day, B&H was a juggernaut of the British music supply scene. They sold sheet music, instruments, accessories, and had a number of brands under their name.

Boosey merged with Hawkes & Son back in the 1930's. The Besson name was mostly assigned to the horns destined for the USA, acquired from the old French firm.
