FS: Wessex Dolce - Overture - Gold Brass Bell

My mentor is selling me his old Besson for a very generous price since I'm off to college next year but I am in desparate need of cash if I want it. Since this is very close to new (and without being too greedy) I would like to sell my Wessex Dolce (Overture With Case) for $1100, shipping would be free. PM me for more details or drop a message below. This is the first time I've ever done something like this so pardon me if I'm missing anything. I live in Deland, Florida.

EDIT: I have also listed my horn on Ebay

Welcome to the forum! If you have not already done so, please read this post:

Despite the fact that most members here know what a Wessex Dolce is, it would still be beneficial to your purpose to post photos of the horn and the case.

Also, if you are open to the idea, sometimes sellers mention their location in case someone nearby would like to pick up the horn instead of having it shipped.

I've been wondering about Overture versus Dolce. They seem to have the same model number, but the image carved on the bell is rather different. It isn't that this is one of the early Dolce's with a trigger. So why is this horn an Overture and not a Dolce? What non-cosmetic differences were Wessex playing with when this particular horn went into production?

The one with the trigger is called Dolce Cantabile. I've been curious about the name of the Overture too. I am guessing Overture is the standard Dolce?

  7. It's a second generation Dolce; Wessex has been re-naming all of their models and series based on the "tier" of the instrument.

So is Overture a more recent or an older version of the Dolce? I am guessing older. Which "generation" of production are we currently in?

It is the most recent version actually, if you look on over to Wessex's blog theres much more information about it.

I thought that I had been paying attention to the blog. But when scrolling through previous blog pages, the only post I found relating was https://wessex-tubas.com/blogs/news/...64582045&_ss=r . It seemed to be saying that Overture is the "student horn" line. But please, set me straight and pass me the links I need to educate myself on this topic.
