FS: Hirsbrunner Euphonium - bid starts at $3500 - 4 Valve - Silver?

The horn is re-listed again, but with a lower starting price this time (updated below).
The seller clearly does not know much about this horn, and the brand is not named in the title. That could limit traffic he gets, which might help keep price down. He says it is nickel plated, but I'm guessing it is silver plated (I have never seen one of these in bright silver color when nickel was used). Condition looks very good. Apparently a case is included. The price seems quite good for such a rare horn, assuming bidding does not go too high. $4,000 at this point, and there IS a Make Offer button. Shipping is free:

SOLD FOR THE ASKING $3,500 - CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BUYER!

Seller re-listed with no changes. New URL is above. Here is his description of the horn:

Hirsbrunner euphonium in excellent condition. Purchased in 1982 and used in performances with the Eastman Wind Ensemble and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Has a few dings. Sound is spectacular.

Re-listed again. New URL is above. Given the time this has been online, I might suggest making the seller a lower offer and see if that works. A Hirsbrunner is not that easy to find on the market!

I've made a couple low-ish offers out of morbid curiosity. No dice!

Sorry to hear that. It's a shame to see a Hirsbrunner sitting around for so long.

I've also messaged for details and never heard back. The price is getting nice but the lack of communication doesn't inspire much confidence.

Let me try to communicate with this guy; if he doesn't respond, I'm thinking he may have some kind of email delivery problem (just as some forum members have trouble signing up because they don't receive the confirmation link email from this software). If that seems to be the case, I'll let eBay know about it so they can try to help the guy.

The new price is in the bargain territory for HB euphonium, so I hate to see it "go to waste."

The seller responded. Here is his response and my reply to his response.

                        Seller:

Hi David. Thank you for writing. I did receive a good number of emails from people that were very low and I did not respond. There is a minimum bid for a reason. If they can't hit that number, then there is no sense in proceeding. I apologize for not writing back to them, as I should have out of courtesy. I will do better. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
                        Me:

I suggested to him that seeing a make-offer button could imply that a lower offer might be accepted. I told him that I typically see a make-offer button where there is also a buy-it-now button, rather than a bid button.

That's got to be the bargain of the decade!

                            I have a good friend selling a pristine 479 for $6k, so $3,500 is a steal!

Lucky me. Arrives next week. Loved my Wilson 2900, Didn’t like my Meinl Weston 751, Eastman was ok, looking forward to Hirsbrunner, especially at 3500.
