    Bellinzona

Here is a nice march, written in the last century by G.B. Mantegazzi, composer and band director from Ticino ( Swiss canton ), born in Riva San Vitale, at a gunshot from my country, in whose band I occasionally play euphonium. The part of euphonium has a beautiful countermelody in the resumption of the first refrain, in the second and in the trio. https://youtu.be/y_KAyNVaZpc

That is a nice march! There are actually a gazillion (approximately!) fine marches that are not by the "standard" composers we think of like King, Sousa, etc.

Bob Hoe funded a recording project called Heritage of the March, which consisted of 185 LP's made by all the major service bands and several other civilian bands. The series included a collection by Mantegazzi.

Bob was a euphonium player and a major band fan!
