Thread: Help finding obscure sheet music from Jun Nagao

  1. Unhappy Help finding obscure sheet music from Jun Nagao

    Hello all,

As I was browsing euphonium music for my upcoming recital, I came across a piece called Kanko no yuki supposedly from composer Jun Nagao. The problem is, I can only find reference to this work in Shoichiro Hokazono's album Desert Rose, and I've been losing my mind trying to find the sheet music to this lovely piece. Even the contact information for either of these people is difficult to come across.

If anyone has any sort of info, it would be much appreciated. Thanks all.

    Welcome to the forum!

This may be a daunting task. But in a YouTube video that looks like it came from "Sound! Euphonium" I see the composer listed as Yuki Kajiura. You might look around for that name as well. And I'll keep my eyes open.

Wow,a very obscure piece indeed! Here you go, you can buy the sheet music here.

寒江雪(kanko no Yuki) by 長生 淳 (Nagao Jun)

His Wikipedia page with this piece in the list of works he did, but it's in Japanese unfortunately.

I am considering purchasing it too!

Also, just to clarify, this is not from Hibike Euphonium and Nagao Jun is a real composer.

Edit: it doesn't seem like it has a pdf version for sale. So be prepared to pay for shipping

Edit 2: seems to be no longer in print or something. There few sites I went said it's out of stock.

But Yamaha Japan seems to have stock for it. https://webshop.yamahamusic.jp/domes...oduct_id=31576

  7. Hi Christiane,

I actually was able to acquire the piece through a site called Elkin Music International! I used the information from your response and ordered on July 25, and today it arrived! Was unsure if it was actually going to come or not (site is little sketchy), but it turns out you just need a little patience. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help!

    Best,

    Andy
