Thread: Selling a Euphonium - Best Payment Methods?

  1. Selling a Euphonium - Best Payment Methods?

First off, if I placed this thread in the wrong subforum, I apologize!

I am seriously considering selling my York euphonium to change to a different model, and I was wondering for those of you that have sold similar, relatively high value instruments, what payment methods (paypal, check, cash, etc) do you prefer as a seller for security?

I'm hoping to sell it locally to avoid the hassle/added cost of shipping.

Thank you in advance for any help!

    Locally, cash is king.

Shipping it off, use PayPal. They offer a guarantee.

  3. If both parties have enough trust in one another, you can use Paypal to send payment and avoid any fees. I've done this a few times with other posters on this forum.

Agreed with above - if you sell to someone with a public facing account (either through this forum, Tubenet, Facebook) and to people who contribute to those forums, your chances of being screwed over are pretty small. That being said, you never know. You can always ask questions (why do you want the horn? why this particular horn? who is your teacher? where did you go to school?) to vet a bit if you are unsure.
