2 large shank Wick mouthpieces with different tapers

I have 2 Wick mouthpieces, a 2AL and a 3AL. The 3AL fits perfectly in my horn, and the 2AL has a slightly different taper, though I was told they are both large shank. Has anyone run into 2 Denis Wick mouthpieces that didn't seat the same in your horn?
