    QHR in Action!

I cleaned out the horn I'm testing (the satin-gold lacquer Adams E3) yesterday using my QHR. This was invented by Bill Ricker, who passed away a little over a year ago. Had a nice time remembering Bill as I was doing this! It is just about as painless as cleaning a horn could possibly be!

Do you worry about the soapy water hurting your lawn? I've thought of getting the QHR, but I'd rather use in with the horn in the bathtub (I actually can run my backyard hose through the bathroom window if I do that).

That thought crossed my mind! I have never noticed a problem before, though, and I have done this type of cleaning long before I had a QHR. But for a precaution I rinsed the area with lots of clear water when I was done. I figured if I dilute it enough it would be mostly harmless.

I thought you WERE testing the satin-gold lacquer horn. I must have missed something. I am also persnickety to beat the band, and I would definitely get a case of the vapors if I laid my horn on the grass. I would have a big rubber mat, lots of towels, etc. I am just totally weird, insane and unreasonable when it comes to my horn. It is a disease, I know.

    John,

So you know how you're typing along and attempt to type "now" but it comes out as "not" without you noticing? (I corrected the post - sorry for the confusion!)

No need to do that... you can get an adapter for your shower head to which you can connect a short length of garden hose.

Yes, that’s the way I use the QHR. See this post which includes pics and suggested adapter:

Again, note my warning here about the necessary rigidity of the shower arm.
