Hi all,
Noob here, and wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Anthony B. and I played Euphonium in the Marine Corps band (field bands, not The President’s Own) from 1995 to 2003. I haven’t played since 2003, but have decided that it’s time to get my chops back in order and start playing with the local community college concert/community band. Hopefully I’ll be able to get enough chops to play in the spring concert with my son who’s getting ready to leave for college for percussion major.
I currently don’t own a horn, and have been going nuts trying to find a decent horn that isn’t a student model. I’ve gone and called all the music stores in the St. Louis area, but most of the time the response I get is: “What’s a Ufonimumum.” But of course, I’m sure you’re all used to that as well when you talk to people.
Then I came across this forum and through careful reading of several posts on this forum, I have decided to go with a Wessex Dolce. I thank you all for the help even though you didn’t know you helped me!
When I was in the Corps, I played on Wilson’s and Hirsbrunners...but I don’t have the money for neither...even though I will gladly accept an Adams E3 for Christmas...
Anyway, I am super excited to start this journey again and look forward to many conversations with ya’ll!
