Does anybody have experience playing an JK 4G (USA-Line) on Euphonium?
The USA-Line mouthpieces (at the bottom of the webpage http://josefklier.de/mundstuecke/posaune/) of Josef Klier are copies of later period Bach Mt. Vernon mouthpieces. This series mouthpieces have a much shorter shank, a bigger throat and a wider throat entrance than standard Bach mouthpieces. The JK 4G feels bigger than a standard Bach 4G and the sound is significantly darker. The shank length is similar to a DW SM3X which I am normally playing.
I recently tested the JK 4G on a Euphonium and had a surprisingly good impression in sound and playing behavior.
Is there anybody else who can share experience with this mouthpiece?
