Well, I'm certainly not going to be paranoid in the slightest about my new horn suddenly sounding like a wasp nest at some point.... Nope. Not at all.

As for the intonation of the horn - the more I'm getting used to the way it blows, the better in tune it's getting. Eb above the staff was initially extremely sharp, but I think that was user error, because it's right on now. Overall it's got a lot fewer weird tendencies than my Willson - most notably the A and Ab below middle C and high F and G, all of which were problem notes for me and no longer are. I haven't had much time to really sit down and look at each note, but I'll try to do that this weekend.

It's such a great playing instrument, so I'm crossing my fingers about the build quality after reading some of the posts in this thread.

I'm still loving it - I tried a ton of horns side-by-side with it at ITEC and I didn't find one I liked the sound of better (for me, at least). After playing the horn for a while now, I feel like the intonation quirks are a little similar to a Besson Sovereign - the first-valve Eb above the staff runs a bit sharp, while the one in the staff runs the tiniest bit flat. Easily correctable, and a far cry from the painfully flat concert A my Willson had. In hindsight I should've asked Dave if he'd wanted to give it a spin for the sake of his intonation chart.

As for the "buzz" people have reported hearing. I may have found the culprit. The Geneva's slides all seem to be a little on the loose side out of the factory. This is especially apparent in the main (trigger) slide. I began to hear it as the initial grease wore off and immediately started freaking out, putting my hand on every surface possible. I found when I held onto the main slide, there was no buzz. Applied a thick grease to the slide and it stopped. For a while. Eventually had Martin Wilk tighten the slide up a bit, and the issue was cleared right up.

                Hi Sean
hope your still loving your new euph
I quite fancy revisiting Geneva .....i used to have a Symphony which was the best sound and projection of any euph ive had..... just need to sell one or two instruments first.
Now the symphony was yellow brass, ive trailed thru you posts but couldnt find if you said which bell option you went for..... all red, all nickel, red with nickel flare or other.
                many thanks
                Dave

It's all-nickel. I'm not sure if the other options are this light-weight. BUT BE CAREFUL if you have this type of bell. It dings extremely easily. That said, it sounds fantastic, so take the good with the bad, etc.

All things being equal, nickel-silver should be harder and less prone to dents than any other type of brass. But it's possible that they make it with thinner stock, or that it gets less work hardening in the production process.

Trust me, this horn's bell is anything but dent resistant. From what I understand it's a very thin gauge.

                        I'll PM you, Euphism.

Would you provide his email, please? I'm very interested in obtaining that same model and I would rather not have to travel to Europe.

NOTE: in this situation, it is good practice to send Daniel's email to Joe and let Joe decide if he wants to be in touch.

It's worth noting that there is now USA distribution for Geneva that is more easily reachable:

                                https://genevabandroomusa.com/

                                They are pretty responsive.
