Thread: Solo Piece

  1. Solo Piece

I’m a decent high school freshman looking for a nice euphonium solo to play for our recital coming up, any suggestions?

    Welcome to the forum!

What is your taste? Would you like something dramatic, slow and pretty, theme & variations, original euphonium music, or...?

We're lucky that there are lots of good choices today!

  3. Preferably something slow and pretty, I don’t really care for the theme and variation style but am open for options.

You might look at Paul Droste's nice arrangement of Schumann's Five Pieces in Folk Style. There are a couple of nice slow movements, and you could pair one of those with the 4th or 5th movements for a more lively finish. It's very nice music!

Another idea is this John Philip Sousa parlor piece, originally for violin. Slow and pretty.
