Thread: Looking for Boosey & Co replacement tuning slide

  1. Looking for Boosey & Co replacement tuning slide

    Hi all,

I have a Boosey & Co 1914 compensating euphonium that is missing a 3rd valve tuning slide. Any thoughts on where I can have a replacement made or any sources for replacement parts for euphoniums of this era? I'm in the NYC area if that helps.

    Thanks!

Donor horn...? Buy a non-functioning instrument of similar vintage online, then use it for parts. Sorry to say it out loud. But that is how I hear antiques of all types are serviced. Ebay is a good source for unloved old horns. So maybe it will work in your case as well. Consult with a technician so that you can make sure that bore size and other technical details are compatible with your horn.

Call Dan Oberloh in Seattle, he has a few Boosey parts widows. A Solborn from me, even.
