Looking for 3/4 size used baritone horn w/upright bell in good condition

I am new to the forum. My 9-year old grandson has shown interest in euph/baritone. (My son--his uncle--plays Euph.)
It has been suggested we start grandson on 3/4 size baritone.
I have scanned e-bay, Craigslist and local music stores. I have a good idea on price, new vs. used, but have no idea on condition of instrument with an on-line purchase, and am cautious about a no-return policy.
I live in Norfolk VA; grandson lives in Raleigh/Durham.
    Can anyone advise, please?
    Thank you! jffolk@cox.net

I have spent many hours on Ebay looking for 3/4 size baritone horn, used.
I know a King 623 is 3/4 size. Anyone know if Holton B470R and Yamaha YEP 201 are 3/4 size?
    I see a King 623 at $1499. Two Holton B470R, one at $999 and one for $650. Yamaha YEP 201 is $999.
    Any comments, please?
    Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I was going to maybe suggest the Yamaha 201. It’s not “3/4 size” per se but is lighter than many other model euphoniums. It IS a euphonium but I think would be manageable by a 9 year old student. It would also offer your son many years of playing until he’s ready for a 4 valve horn. The bore is .571 so not so large to require too much air.

Getzen makes a 3/4 size baritone. Model 8230 if I remember right. But it’s not as good as the Yamaha in my opinion. Hope this helps.
