    Reeves Brass

Anyone purchased from this store before?
    Seems to have decent prices.

No, not trying to promote this store. Haha I am eyeing the Euphonium on their stock and wanted to see if anyone else here purchased from Mr. Clive Reeves before. Only reviews were on the Facebook page and hardly any other information on Google. That said, he did say he runs a small shop, so maybe that's why?

I have this same question... they have what seems to be a ridiculously low price for their JP247.
    Are they legit?

I'm suspicious. Not of fraud, necessarily, but of the experience one might have buying from them. As you see, it's been 18 months since the question was posted and there is no response. I checked on TubeNET and found no reference to them. My best guess is they are a small business that does not update the website. The 274 is out of stock according to the home page. Seems possible that they have not sold one for a long time, and if they get one now they may find the price higher. Please understand I'm only guessing, but when I see prices that are too low my red flags go up.

Hello! Original poster here! I probably should have updated this thread with my experience back then! I had the pleasure of dealing with Mr. Reeves twice! First for the JP274 and then the JP852 Pro case. I have checked with JP too and he is definitely one of their official stockist! You can check out my reviews in the other threads for both the horn and the bag!

And Mr. Werden is right, he operates a very small business and his website may not be the best ( I had issues with the price of shipping, then again I was half way across the globe), but dealing with Mr. Reeves was quick and painless. He was extremely helpful!. I am not sure about stock vs the homepage. But I recall back then JP homepage listed the horn as out of stock, but he managed to still receive the horn from the JP warehouse 4-5 days after I placed my order.

His prices somewhat align with the best prices of some other sellers of JP274 (Midwest Music by Joe S. in the US? Hopefully I got the name right.). Quite a number of people recommend asking sellers for their best prices instead of looking at the listed price, but somehow Mr. Reeves just listed them instead.

    Thanks for the update.
    Very helpful.
I emailed Mr. Reeves & he says he anticipates more of the JP 274S MK11 in a few weeks.
If the prices are true, it'll be hard to pass up.

I've been on the fence about the JP274S or a Wessex Dolce. The Dolce is on back order currently & I don't see anyone reselling them at this time either.
It's likely a sign that I should wait for the Dolce. But at this price... it might be better to act now.
    Thoughts?

I have never tried the Wessex Dolce, so I can't give any kind of useful thoughts on it.

But I will admit that I went with JP because of the price and the reviews I've read here and on some other groups about the JP274. To me, the JP274 felt well built, heavy and solid. Compared to my Yamaha, the valves seems to have heavier springs. I have an amateur musician friend who owns a Besson Prestige that said he wished he knew about JP earlier so he could have just saved a ton of money by getting a JP instead (he's primarily a trombone player). If I ever have to downgrade, I wouldn't hesitate to consider the JP274 again, though I guess I don't mind trying the Wessex Dolce

Sorry, not much of a help here. But I think there are a few other posters who have tried both horns before! I've asked Mr. Algridas Matonis too on his thoughts as he has videos reviewing both horns.
