Greetings all,
Been looking and hard to find but if anyone has a tip or a lead on a nice used 5050 I will greatly appreciate it.
Occasionally they show up here used:

DG
Also keep an eye on sites like Baltimore Brass and Dillon Music. Both usually have a stock of used/demo horns that gets updated fairly frequently.

At first I thought it was an M5050 but then I looked at mine and the labeling is different. I suspect this might be a Miraphone 5000 but not sure. See image below of my M5050.

Chorale and Shaker Dance (John Zdechlik)
At that price it is rather tempting. Ive played the M5050 but never this model. I notice the no trigger, no gold accents and smaller bell. Seems the bore size is the same but hard to tell much else.
Worth it at this price vs heart set on M5050??
I looked at images of new M5000, and M5050 (and also the other lower tier models). They all have the model number stamped in front of the serial number. If that is a newer process, then maybe it is an older horn, and might not have the other fancy stuff too. It still doesn’t lock down a model for this one though. Hehe. Would the serial number itself be enough to determine the model?

Someone just posted one for sale on Tuba-Euphonium Marketplace group on facebook. Seller is in Greenville NC
I don’t know where to find a list of Miraphone serial numbers to model numbers - sorry. Demondrae Thurman helped develope the M5050. Don’t know all of the changes he suggested, but he did tell me that he was the one who suggested Miraphone vent all four valves. That’s a good feature. He may have also suggested the 12.2” bell but not sure.
