    Cleaning Products for Wessex Dolce

I am about to be the owner of a Silver Wessex Dolce, and I was wondering what products I can use to polish the silver, clean the slides and valves, etc. since I know that the silver playing is going to be a little bit more delicate than other higher end instruments.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

As Gary suggests, Hagerty silver polish is one of the best since it not only polishes silver, but includes something that slows tarnish build up so you don’t have to do it so often. Some use Windex and a soft lint-free cloth to remove finger prints between polishing. I only polish my horn about every six months since polishing removes a tiny bit of silver plate each time.

Has anyone ever used lens / eyeglasses cleaner on silver instruments? The bottle doesn't say what the main ingredient is, but it is alcohol-free and, (of course!) non-abrasive.

I have not, but I wouldn't hesitate. People have reported good results using Windex, and eyeglass cleaner is more mild.

Thanks; I didn't even think about that.
