Are you looking for a Baryton (which is similar to a euphonium) or a Tenorhorn (similar to a British Baritone)? They're two very distinct German instruments.

Could you please answer Adrian's question above? Otherwise you may get a lot of suggestions about the wrong type of instrument.

    Pretty simple, really.

What key should it be in?

Actually, not with the German instruments. Both the Baryton and Tenorhorn are 9' B-flat instruments in Germany. The Althorn is the comparable instrument to a British Tenor Horn.

I actually have an oval 4 valve German made baryton but not willing to sell at your price. It's a great horn and I personally enjoy it.
