    Sad news from my corner of the world.

    The banding community in NZ, Australia and Pacific Islands are in mourning such is the impact Riki had on brass banding in the region.

    So sorry to hear this. Mr. Riki McDonnell was one of my favorites. He had a marvelous tone! I had the pleasure to meet and spend a little time with Riki at ITEC in 2002 in Greensboro, NC. Heck of a nice guy offering help or advice. After his recital at ITEC - ending with “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”, he took out his copy from his folder with piano accomp and gave it to me. Riki will be sorely missed by the euphonium world and the brass band movement. May he Rest In Peace.

    Thanks for that link Paul. I noticed this was just recently shared on YouTube. Very appropriate since Riki almost always ended his recitals with a hymn.
