Thread: Recommendations for an Unaccompanied Euphonium Solo

  1. Recommendations for an Unaccompanied Euphonium Solo

Does anyone have a recommendation for an unaccompanied euph solo piece/pieces? If you know Gillingham's "Blue Lake Fantasies", I’m looking for something like that.

If you are happy with some short pieces, I really like the Stephen Mead publication of 20 Dances for Euphonium by Vizutti. You can assemble a suite of dances in different styles from this quite easily.

I've just started looking at three more furies for euphonium by James Grant. They're good, and challenging.

Seconded. Just starting working them up, and the are great fun. Lots of low and high playing but nothing absurd (well...except for the high D at piano coming out of the pedal range...). The first two are quite manageable with some practice, but the third will take a lot of woodshedding.
