FS: 2002 Besson Sovereign 967 compensating euphonium

After 15 years of ownership, I am offering my Besson Soveriegn 967 compensating euphonium for sale. I purchased this brand new in 2002 (serial number 876362), and it has served me extremely well throughout its time with me, however I now play a Sterling Virtuoso with a trigger and my Besson now sits in the basement when it should be played and enjoyed by someone else.

The instrument plays extremely well, with good response, quick valve action, and it produces the typical Besson sound. I've had it serviced a few times - once because the lead pipe got bent, the other time because the second valve cap threads got misaligned. As a result, the lead pipe is missing the "Besson" lettering and is missing some lacquer, and the second valve cap has an area where lacquer is missing. There are also a few minor dents and dings that are typical of a horn of this age with the amount of usage it's had, and there are a few spots of "red rot". There are photos that I have provided that demonstrate what I've described.

Overall this is a great horn and I am sad to see it go, as it is my first professional euphonium. I'm also including all of the extra hardware that came with it, which is replacement valve buttons, lyre, and a lacquer cloth. A Denis Wick 4AL mouthpiece is also included, along with the original case, which has duct tape around the bell due to some of the outer shell breaking off.

I'm asking $3,400 and am open to offers. I will cover shipping costs, so please bear that in mind if you decide to make an offer. I handle payments via Paypal. You can email jkircoff@gmail.com if interested or have additional questions. Thanks!
