    There are LOT of distractions in the typical solo performance, or during an audition. You need to be SO WELL PREPARED that these things don't distract you. If your fingers or chops are barely making a phrase, a little distraction will derail you. Check this out:

    Yeah, it's amazing how many distractions there can be in a concert hall that you never see in a practice room :-O
