I used a 5G on a JP Sterling baritone (property of the band) a couple of months ago when I subbed. It worked okay but I noticed the rim felt different. It may have been the "roundness" that I felt. I recently got a small shank for my smaller Doug Elliott piece. It's a 101 rim, G cup with small shank. Haven't had a chance to try it out as yet. Just hope it won't sound too "euphy" if you know what I mean.
