    Melody Shop - Euphonium-Tuba Quartet

In case your band does not play Karl King's "Melody Shop" often enough for you, or even if it does, you'll like this arrangement. It's in the same key as the original, naturally, but I have split the euphonium part so both players can work to maintain an continuous line. It makes for a real crowd pleaser for either "civilians" or for other low brass players!

I gave that to a tuba ensemble a couple of years ago. I had a talented couple of euphoniums, and one was about to graduate, so we went for it. The kid playing 1st tuba wasn't up to the task, but he sure did try. That tuba part is a killer for the average high school player.

Some of my arrangements are geared so that a good high school ensemble can handle them. This one...not so much!

But the group did fine! Heck, if the arrangement doesn't push them they won't learn, right? The audience seemed to like it just fine.
