Forgot to say, welcome to the forum!! Your English is perfect. Are you Finish (is that the right word)? Or American on assignment to Finland, I see you are a Lt. Col. in the Salvation Army. Do you play in one of their bands? In any event, welcome here!

John, thanks for the welcome and for the compliment - but, being a Brit from London I would hope to be reasonably fluent :-)
Like all Salvation Army officers we are moved (appointed) where needed. Occasionally that involves overseas ministry. My wife and I were appointed to Helsinki earlier this year, having served the previous 3 years in Estonia.

In Northern Europe the Salvation Army's brass band tradition is not as strong as it is in the UK. We have just one brass band in Finland, in the Helsinki Temple corps. Having played Euphonium with the Estonian Defence Froces orchestra for the last 3 years, I will be looking for a brass or wind band to play with in Finland.

I stumbled across this forum recently - nice to be a member.

    Best wishes

  3. Hello, can I know how was your experience with this instrument? I am quite interested to buy it.
