I am looking for recordings of the earliest variety of wind bands and euphonium. In particular I am looking for an early recording of Second Suite in F major by Holst. Any info? Think early to mid 1900s.

You-foh-nee-um: from the Greek word euphonos witch means "beautiful-souding" or "sweet-voiced"

Good luck on this! It could be interesting to hear a style closer to when the suite was written. The oldest recording I've heard myself is the Eastman Wind Ensemble from the 1960's. I could suggest reaching out to the USA military bands for starters. Also, there must be a good source in Great Britain for archive recordings.Dave Werden (ASCAP)
