    Sneak Peek! Website Changes

Would any of you like to try a couple pages and see how they work? They are examples of the new page format for the MAIN website (not the forum). The biggest difference, other than totally new look, is that the pages are responsive now and will automatically adjust to a PC/Mac or a tablet or a phone.

The menu will work (i.e. will expand for you), but the links in it will take you to the old pages for now. I have two pages as samples, the home page and the baritone-euphonium article. Let me know what you think!

I just checked those two links out on my PC and iPhone. Worked great in that the page width was set just right.

I opened the old and new bari/euph article pages side by side in different tabs. Short answer is there's no comparison, the new one looks great!! Good work Dave.

    Dave,

Both pages look nice, however, the links to Facebook, Twitter, etc. that come in on the left seem a bit goofed up. I included a picture showing what it looks like on my screen. I am a Windows 10 user with Internet Explorer 11.

I just closed out Internet Explorer and restarted it. I then went to your website, and the Facebook, Twitter, etc. links all now come into view on the left side of my screen. So I am getting that now on the forum and in the old website pages, and the links are somewhat in the way.

    Thanks, guys, for the feedback!

John: I see what you mean. I'll work on that, but it is annoyingly tricky. The AddThis service that I use for the sharing options has a very long delay between changing the configuration and when things actually show up on the site. So as an ex-military guy, you'll know what I mean when I say it's a process of trial, HUAW, and error.

  7. On the forum, I am still getting the following message when I try to log in, and I have to click on the "Forum" button to reload the page:
    "Invalid Redirect URL (http://dwerden.com/forum/forum.php)"

I get this message on all three major web browsers: IE (both Windows 8 and 10), Edge, and Google (incl. both basic and chrome versions), and it will not always reload the page, and I have to close the browser and try another. I have the least glitches on Google Chrome, but none of them automatically log me in properly with out at least one extra step.

How did you get to http://dwerden... for the forum in the first place? Was it from a link on the site? If so I need to correct that.

Okay, this morning when I go directly to those two sample pages, the sharing icons/links no longer slide in on the left side of the page. They are not there at all, if that is what you want. Both pages look fine.

I also tried the pages on my iPod (use that in my Harley for saved music and email when on the road). Seems to work fine and size up nicely.

I'm back in limbo again, apparently. I actually changed settings to enable a different style of icons a couple hours ago. I guess it either didn't take or it is still in "delay" mode.
