Quick question: for the extreme upper register (B4 and above) and the false tones in the low register (below B0), what are the best fingerings? I play a Besson Sovereign and I noticed that the high E seems to speak much better open than with second valve and that high F may speak better using 1 and 2 rather than open, though my chops protested before I could do more testing. Are there any other alternate fingerings such as this? The high D seems to be a bad note like the B.
I saw somewhere that Bb0 (an octave below pedal Bb), could be fingered with second valve as a false tone. What are others' experience with false tones on Bessons and other Euphs and what are the best fingerings.
Thanks!
