Voice of the Guns - K. J. Alford

We just got this great march in our folders last night. Kenneth Alford's "Voice of the Guns". Alford (or Ricketts) wrote "Voice of the Guns" in 1917 during WW-I to honor the British artillery. It was heard in portions of the great 1962 movie, "Lawrence of Arabia". I've not played this march in a very long time and forgot what a great part the euphoniums have. There's more than one key change... starts in 'Db', a change to 'F' after the 2nd strain, then as usual in the Trio it adds a flat for 'Eb'.

"Voice of the Guns" (Kenneth Alford) by HMKG Band
    Rick Floyd
Miraphone 5050 - Warburton BJ / RF mpc

"Always play with a good tone, never louder than lovely, never softer than supported." - author unknown.
Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches

El Cumbanchero (Raphael Hernandez, arr. Naohiro Iwai)
The Cowboys (John Williams, arr. James Curnow)
    Festive Overture (Dmitri Shostakovich)
