    Someone to Watch Over Me....music??

    Hi all-

I'm not sure if this is the proper thread to post this on, but in preparation for this semester's studio recital I am looking for a piece to play.

I have always known of this beautiful arrangement of "Someone to Watch Over Me" by Joseph Turrin and was very much inspired after seeing a "Crazy for You" production earlier this summer.

I know that this is a trumpet arrangement as that is all I was able to find out through research.

So.... does anyone know where to find this sheet music for purchase?

For those of you who haven't heard this rendition, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59FsQleKm_E

Chris Leslie is a former student of mine. I'll ask him about it.

Funny that I happened to be browsing through the forum today...I was actually able to obtain a copy from one of Phil Smith's students at UGA and played it on my 2016 Junior recital. It is easily one of my favorite lyrical pieces and an incredible arrangement- one that I will be returning to often!

Information for those interested: Mr. Turrin asks for $35 (through PayPal) for a pdf copy of his very nice arrangement of "Someone To Watch Over Me." He explained that there are royalty costs associated with the Gershwin Estate and Alfred Music.

Thanks for that info. I've heard that Gershwin's music is tough - hard to get permission to arrange and definitely not cheap. (That resulted in not having an excerpt for Porgy & Bess in the euphonium excerpt book!)
