    Besson New Standard

    I'm checking out this listing on eBay.

    Anyone know anything about this horn? Seems to be a bit expensive. Plus he calls it a "tuba." At least he didn't call it a "baby tuba...."

    It is a tuba. The Besson tubas had a bell that was not very large, so that fools your eyes. But look at the length of the 2nd valve slide. Also note how the 4th valve peeks out between two tubes instead of beneath them like a euphonium would.
