Thread: Falcone 2015-2016

  1. Falcone 2015-2016

Hello! I am entering university this fall and beginning my delve into the competition scene of being a musician. My first challenge will be Falcone. I would like to purchase the music as soon as possible, so my question is, when will the music be announced? My assumption was during the festival.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Also, thank you for bringing this up, I plan on getting more into the competition scene as well and this just reminded me of it.

Yeah no joke... This is part of my steps in increasing my repertoire. As well as working on performance nerves.

  6. Having judged the taped rounds of Falcone several times, I recommend putting in the time and extra money if possible to get a good recording engineer. When you have to listen to and rank 65 recordings of the same piece, recording quality really does make a difference. If 2 players are very much on the same level but one has a higher quality recording that may be enough to put them on top.

The competition for this event is very tough - lots of fine players out there! But whether you are competing with others or just yourself, you should keep trying to raise the bar.

I suggest you look at this blog post. I think you may find some useful stuff there:

Thanks for the tip! I am fortunate that my studio teacher is a fine recording engineer!
