20-25 years ago, the Army Ceremonial Band brass players also formed a British style brass band on occasions. Does anyone know if they are still doing this? When I was playing in the Eastern Iowa Brass Band, they hosted the NABBA competition at Fort Myers, in Arlington , one year and were the guest band for the final concert at another year's competition.

      John,

I know this is an old post and an old question, but I was in The U.S. Army Band in the 70's (prior to them having a brass band element). I went to the ITEC this year (2016) in Knoxville, and The U.S. Army Band had a tuba/euphonium quartet there. I met and spoke with them after their performance and asked about the brass band. They said it was no longer in existence (and that there was a long story behind its demise - which I did not learn about). So, no brass band. Too bad, I thought that was a good thing for the Ceremonial Band folks to have as they played little concert, sit down type music, mostly ceremonies (marches, and sometimes more marches, fanfares with the Herald Trumpets, and funeral hymns).
