    FS: Cerveny Emperor Euphonium

The Emperor is the top of the line for Cerveny and has a huge sound (as I recall from my testing in 2012). It misses some of the playing refinements of the current top instruments, but for $2,000 this seems like an exceptional value. It is a silver/gold combo with a main slide trigger. Case is included.

UPDATE: starting bid is $2,000, with a buy-it-now price of $2,000. (Link below is updated)

Seller is new, so there is no history, but eBay's protection should be a reassurance.

Thanks, Doug - that's what I get for posting something while carrying on a conversation in the room. I'm still not sure how I missed seeing it, though.

FWIW, in my experience this kind of thing can be fixed easily by a good tech, but "easily" would mean there would probably be a visible remnant afterward. I've seen two horns recently that had sustained similar damage. Both were fixed fairly quickly and look good, but with some "blur" in the finish where the wrinkle was. At least one of those players decided to just leave it that way and is playing it today, roughly a year after the event. I did not ask, but I assume that fixing it to a more perfect result would cost quite a bit.

In my eyes, this horn might still be a good buy even if you plan a repair in the "easily" category. But I would not jump at it with the intention of doing a perfect fix, unless you are someone who is already seeking an Emporer.

The substantial bell crinkle was described as a "slight dent" in the description. That's some slight dent!

That does stretch the phrase a bit, doesn't it?!

Something to note: If a dent is severe enough, it can cause a crack as it is burnished back into shape. I had this happen to my 967. Luckily, I have a 966 with a perfect matching bell that will be ready for a bell swap if the small crack ever causes an actual problem.

The horn has been re-listed. Still has $2k as buy-it-now but also has a Make Offer button. I updated the first post with the new URL.
