Hi, can anyone help me identify what I'm pretty sure is a tuba. It's a bit of a mystery as the maker is Hawkes & Son, Picadilly Circus, London but there are no serial numbers

It is a tuba, probably in BBb from what my eyes can tell. Hawkes was its own company, as was Boosey, before they merged. Here is a little more info on the companies/merger:
