Anyone ever buy anything from "top_eseller" on Ebay?

I did a search, but I couldn't find anything on the forums. He sells discounted Jinbao horns from his store in China and ships to the U.S. within two weeks :-O

Anyway, I was wondering how much the customs duty is on horns coming from China, and how the billing for that is handled.

I've been checking the tracking number every Saturday. Today I found out that as of the 10th it was processed thru U.S. Customs in Chicago.

YESSSSSS!!!! With a little luck, I might have it in time for the brass band concert in two weeks.

    Back to checking every day.

I was wondering what you think of your horn and dealings with top_eseller.

I'm looking at his offer of a "Professional Gold 3+1 Valves Valve Euphonium Compensating System horn With case. Professional Gold 3+1 Valves Valve Euphonium Compensating System horn With case Price: US $1,299.00"

      Is this what you got?

For that price, why don't you go for a Mack Brass or Wessex?

No, I got the professional 3-valve compensating baritone.

Mack Brass doesn't carry the baritones. Jonathan at Wessex was just leaving on his way to China, wouldn't be back for two weeks, and didn't know at that point if they had any in stock. The deal-maker for me was the difference between $589 and free shipping, and $750 plus shipping, altho if Wessex had been able to take the order and ship right away, I pro'ly would have gone with them. Granted, ordering the horn from China meant that it didn't get the extra TLC that Wessex is rightly famous for. However, the overall experience was positive. If anyone wants to go this route, be prepared for delays 1) for PayPal to get the money to the vendor, 2) for the horn to get thru Chinese export customs, and 3) for the horn to languish in U.S. Customs. Total time for me was 48 days from placing the order to taking the box from the hands of our letter carrier. U.S. Customs charged $32.
