Dave... I'm glad I'm horn money broke right now because I'd probably trade for a new one now too! These mods sound like they fix my only complaints about the horn and then just make the ease of playing even easier! Hope you continue to enjoy it. Kepp us updated on any new upgrades being made to their horns if you are allowed to tell. I may start saving up for a future trade up.

Hi Dave I notice that you have ordered your new Adams with vented valves, I would have thought that this would be a default. Please could you explain why you have done this.

As far as I know, this is only standard on the Miraphone 5050. Most euphoniums don't have vented valves, although I'm not sure why. I have noticed NO downside. I'll write more about this later, maybe in a blog post about the Amado keys and vented valves.

If you look at my blog now you will see an article about my new horn and its customizations.

Dave, just out of curiosity, what was the cost of you trading in and upgrading to the new model, and I am under the impression you traded in directly with Adams. Is this correct? If so, is this option available to us common folk?

I would not be comfortable sharing details of the trade. Sorry.
