    Anchors Aweigh (march)

This is an old march (first copyright 1907, renewed in 1943) by Chas. A. Zimmermann. We just got this for our Patriotic concert next month. Our arr. is by Geo. F. Briegel. I've probably played it before, but it's been awhile. It has a great counter melody for the euphoniums in the trio. I hope it's okay to share a recording of the just the trio. You have to listen closely for the euphs the first time through as they are playing under the flutes and piccolo. The second time is a bit easier to hear (except for the snare drum). This is by the Navy Band.

Anchors Aweigh - Chas. Zimmermann; arr. Geo F. Briegel
    Rick Floyd
Miraphone 5050 - Warburton BJ / RF mpc

"Always play with a good tone, never louder than lovely, never softer than supported." - author unknown.
Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches

El Cumbanchero (Raphael Hernandez, arr. Naohiro Iwai)
The Cowboys (John Williams, arr. James Curnow)
    Festive Overture (Dmitri Shostakovich)

I like that one, too! Played it a lot, especially when we used to play for submarine launching or keep laying. Not a real easy part, but fun to play!
