    Christian Music

I heard Bill Pearce many years ago. He's a very gifted trombone player but plays mostly Christian music. Excellent trombonist. I found the link below to some of his music. I'm sure all of this would work on Euph or Tuba if you can find the music to it.

I first heard Bill Pearce as a teenager growing up in suburban Chicago and was amazed at his playing. I heard him many years later in Cedar Rapids, IA, near the end of his illustrious career, and was still amazed at his sound and technique. He played and sang wonderfully to the glory of God.

Doug Yeo, the retired bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony and personal friend of Bill Pearce posted a wonderful link on the Trombone Forum to Bill's memorial service in which Doug had a role. Here's the link:

I hope many of you will explore the wonderful trombone sounds of Bill Pearce as well as his vocal music. As both a trombone and euphonium player, I agree some of his music could very well be played on euphonium, but somehow it just seems to fit better on trombone, in my opinion.

In case some of you have never taken the time to hear Bill Pearce, here's a link (the 1st one) to what may be his signature song, Joshua. This YouTube link also gives you access to other songs that he plays. He had both an amazing tone and marvelous technique. Some of the links show a montage of various photos of Bill, at different stages of his life. The 2nd link does that and showcases his gorgeous tone.

A very great player! I first heard a recording of Bill back in 1982 and enjoyed his playing.
