Thread: Euph sighting on Turner Classic Movies

  1. Euph sighting on Turner Classic Movies

Just finished viewing on TCM "Full House," a quintet anthology of O. Henry stories, most of which I had already seen in other contexts. However, the final piece, "The Gift of the Magi," was a real eye-opener, and not just because of the female lead's corset or from trying to figure out which New York avenue she and her husband lived on. The end-of-story fade-out had the iconic Santa and Salvation Army band (and I'm thinking, "Probably high pitch all the way, but is that a euphonium or an Eb tuba"?) when the camera angle changed. Not only is it a euph, it's a *double-bell*
euph -- on a film shot in 1952. The technical director did some homework. Kudos!
