    YEP-321 Valve Guides

    Where do you get metal valve guides for the Yamaha YEP-321? Are they a direct replacement for the nylon ones, or do I need to make other modifications? Thanks.

    Are you talking about replacement guides for the older 321 that came with the "metal tab" style guides or metalized replacements for the current 321 that comes with plastic guides. If the later, then the new replacement guides (from Yamaha) have a metal plate embedded in the bottom of the plastic guide to reduce edge wear from cylinder slot. These are the standard replacement for the YEP-201/321/641/642/842. You can get them on eBay or from your local Yamaha reseller.

      Talking about the newer 321 with plastic valve guides. I didn't realize Yamaha themselves were making and selling replacements with metal imbedded in them. That should be easy to acquire. Thanks!

        Yes, Yamaha improved their guide endurance by adding metal on the underside.
