The Marine Corps Music Program announces an immediate Tuba vacancy for musicians in the mid-atlantic region (MD, DE, VA, NC, WV, KY, OH, Eastern MI, Eastern IN). This vacancy is to staff one of our 10 Marine Corps Bands.

With a full time salary and excellent benefits such as medical and dental care, educational assistance, exchange and commissary privileges, and 30 days paid vacation per year, this is an outstanding performance career for musicians that are serious about their craft.

As a Tubist in a Marine Corps Band, you will perform in a variety of diverse ensembles such as Wind Ensemble, Brass Quintet, and Ceremonial Marching Band, performing many styles of music. As such, the applicant should be an able soloist that also possesses the ability to blend well in an ensemble.

Audition material consists of the following:

A. Prepared Material ? Solo from standard repertoire (minimum of a Grade IV/Class A). The applicant may prepare orchestral excerpts as a compliment to the prepared solo.

B. Scales and Arpeggios ? Major, natural minor, harmonic minor and melodic minor scales.

C. Sight Reading ? Sight read selections from band/orchestral excerpts and etudes as well as traditional marches.
