    Hi
According to a table i found some time ago, they might have been built in 1971.
The model should appear clearly on the bell.
But i could be wrong as i am certainly not a specialist.

  3. According to: http://www.horniman.ac.uk/media/_fil...dlists_web.pdf your horns were produced after January 1970 (#481845) and prior to 1974 (#560000). Daves estimate of 1971 sounds pretty good. I do not believe more definitive records are available. As to model, post pictures and we can tell you for sure, though for those dates and numbers, they are likely to be medium shank New Standard models. The Sovereign came out in 1974, so it is unlikely that they are Sovereigns or later large shank New Standard or B&H Imperials.

  4. Mine was purchased new in 1971, and serial number is 498345, so that should help narrow it down a little...i.e. sounds as if yours would have to be either 1970 or 71.

  5. try saxworks/boozy2.htm..... gives dates on higher date ranges
