Conn Double Bell Baritone for sale

Dear forum friends: I'm going to put the following on eBay very soon. Email me at randybrion using the .com gmail if interested. Buy it now price will be $1800.

Conn Double Bell Baritone, serial # 154053, 1917. A rare double bell baritone, which Conn marketed only in the early part of the 20th century, in modern A-440 pitch. The only one of its kind I've seen.

Classic bell configuration: main bell upright, trombone bell forward. Silver finish, gold-wash bells. Old tarnish, especially gold-wash inside main bell, but finish seems to be original, so it should clean up well. Tuning slide tubes still bright silver. All parts in good working order, plays very well. (I wish the moving parts on my Besson had stood-up this well . . .) Minor dents, slight creese on main bell from sitting horn on the bell. Three top action valves, side fourth valve for trombone bell. Small shank, small-bore horn, tuning slide on lead pipe. The trombone bell speaks and projects exceptionally well - something like a very good Bach bass trumpet - and is a joy to play. Tight main bell sound, also suitable for British Brass Band baritone parts. Anchor points on rear for marching strap - this could be a good parade horn as it looks the part but weighs quite a bit less than a traditional double bell euphonium. No case. Shipping at cost UPS from California.

    Thanks,

    Randy Brion
