So, between forums, ancestry.com and other google search results I've finally located this horns origin. Here are a couple of more pics I've taken today. One shows the engraving with Made By Conn Elkhart, IND Thos D. Van Osten. Another pic showing the engravers "Stenberg Eng". I also included a better pic (than the one in a case). Wow again! Steve, I need to know your exact physical address and the times when you are not at home and leave your front door unlocked and this euphonium in plain sight!! I jest, of course, but my goodness that is a fine instrument. How does it play? You say your father and your sons played it, do you?

I really like pretty horns! Nice engraving reminds me of fine coinage, but bigger.

Thanks Steve for the additional pictures. Beautiful engraving!

I found a link with more information about the Stenberg brothers who did a lot of the engraving for C.G. Conn.

Rick - that is interesting about the Stenberg brothers. And the site itself is interesting. Can you imagine working at a company for 60-70 years?
