    Carrickfergus, wind band and euph?

Does anyone know if there is a wind band with euph solo arrangement of Carrickfergus? Or wind band and any solo instrument?

    Thanks,

    john

    Carrickfergus, wind band and euph?

    Hi John,

I've looked for that piece too (wind band arr.) without any success. I assume you're looking for the Stephen Roberts arrangement that Steve Mead plays on his CD, "Euphony"? It's a gorgeous piece.

    Carrickfergus, wind band and euph?

Hi Rick, after I posted I did find that Studio Music has a wind band version for solo trumpet, arranged by Alan Fernie. He's a good arranger, so that probably would work well for euph. I was asking for a friend who wants to play the solo with wind band, and all he could find was the brass band version.

    Carrickfergus, wind band and euph?

    Hi again John,
Yes, I could only find the 'Roberts' arr for Brass Band as well. Good to know that Studio Music has one for tpt. I'll have to go check that out. Thanks.

    Carrickfergus, wind band and euph?

I just recv'd an email from a forum member with a suggested link for wind-band arr. for "Carrickfergus". The solo part looks identical to the Robert's arr. that we've heard. I can't tell for sure if it's for wind-band as I can't read Deutsch, but I think it is. The arranger is Michael Geisler. From Google searches, looks like he arranges for wind-band.

    Here's a link (60.00 EUR):

    Carrickfergus, wind band and euph?

    Hello Rick,

I'm quite sure that this is for Euphonium and wind band (= "Blasorchester" in German). The piece is included in the category "Tenorhorn und Blasorchester" which means TC Euphonium and wind band. Also the price (60€ plus shipping) is an indicator for this. The seller is also reliable in my opinion, so have fun to buy and play

    Regards from Germany, Jochen

This thread is a bit dated, but thought it worth updating...

It appears that the Stephen Roberts arrangement of "Carrickfergus" is now available for wind band. I really like Roberts' arrangement. NOTE: The sound file shared on the site linked below is not with concert band but brass band. In fact it's Steve Mead from his 'Euphony' CD with the Royal Northern College Brass Band. Looking at the score though the arrangement is in fact for wind band.

I have a Dutch arrangement. It has little in common with the Roberts chart.

Who was the arranger and publisher for this version? Is it originally for euphonium or trumpet?
    Thanks.

    It was for Euph.

I'll have to look at my chart to see who did it.

Will report back with that and the contact info for purchase.
